The primary application for flap valves is for surface water drainage associated with rivers, estuaries and sea water outfalls.
The flap valve comprises a frame for fixing to a headwall or directly to the flange pipe, and a door (the flap) which is pushed open by the head of water behind it in the pipe. Once the head of fluid has subsided the door shuts under its own weight.”
Available in cast iron, ductile iron, fabricated, plastic and HDPE flap valves that can be placed either in the pipeline or at the end of a pipe. Standard sizes range from 80mm-2000mm, other sizes are available on request.
